UCF Awards First Two Ph.D.s in Hospitality Management

ucf-hospitality-management-phdRosen College is proud to announce the first two graduates of the Hospitality Management Ph.D. program, Marissa Orlowski and Yoshimasa “Nancy” Kageyama.

Orlowski, who completed research in team cohesion in the restaurant industry, has accepted a tenure-track assistant professor position with Rosen College and will start in August. She looks forward to continuing her research, while applying prior experiences and passions of working in restaurant and bar operations to teaching beverage management and fine spirits management.

Kageyama completed research around consumer emotions and behaviors in the hospitality industry, specifically how employee behaviors can influence customers’ positive emotions. Kageyama is hoping to secure an assistant professor position at an esteemed institution, continue to conduct high quality research and to assist hospitality companies to improve their overall performance and guest services.
