$350K in Scholarships Awarded to UCF Rosen College Students

Ninety-two of UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management’s best and brightest students and graduates, were awarded a total of $350 thousand in scholarships on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, in a ceremony in the College’s Darden Auditorium. Of the 92 recipients, 74 attended the awards presentation along with College faculty, family and friends who applauded their success. Some students were on Study Abroad or had already begun their careers and were unable to attend to receive the award in person.

Along with Dr. Abe Pizam, dean of Rosen College, and Dr. Deborah Breiter, a professor in the Department of Tourism, Events and Attractions at the top-ranked hospitality management College, benefactor Harris Rosen, President and COO, Rosen Hotels, was on hand to congratulate the scholarships recipients and share his thoughts on giving back and service. Mr. Rosen recounted his story of never earning a scholarship as a student, but stressed the importance of giving back to others to foster their educational growth once success arrived. It’s a philosophy that Mr. Rosen has embraced in support of the Tangelo Park neighborhood, Rosen College and other communities and educational institutions across Central Florida.

Many of the scholarship recipients received multiple awards. We congratulate all of the students and thank our generous donors and partners for their support.
