Welcome to Co-op

Students work for three semesters prior to graduation in paid, progressively more responsible, career related work experience. Students are required to establish Learning Objectives at the beginning of each semester and to complete a Semester Report on their educational experience at the end of each semester. Course credit is given for work experience through 3 Internship courses HFT 3940, HFT 4941 and HFT 4944. All students will complete three semesters as a co-op student to fulfill Internship requirements.

Students must have a position or internship prior to ADD/DROP for the semester in which they expect to earn credit. Students must work a minimum of 16 hours per week throughout the semester. Students may register for one Internship per semester and will attend classes as scheduled. You may register for only one Internship per semester. Each successfully completed Internship course earns 1 hour of academic credit.

Benefits for Students

  • Provides major-related work   experience and clarifies academic   and career   goals

  • Grants access to professional   relationships and state-of-the-art   techniques and equipment

  • Enhances prospects for higher   salaries and employment upon   graduation

Attendance is MANDATORY on August 24th or August 25th for Fall 2009 if this is your first internship class at Rosen.
You can sign up for one Internship per semester. There will be a required orientation class meeting at the beginning of the semester for Internship I students and an online class orientation for Internship II and III students.

If you are planning to work and have that work experience count as your Internship requirement you will need to sign up for a 1 Hour Internship course.

You will need to have a paid position by ADD/DROP to receive a satisfactory grade.

If you are planning to go out of this area to work you must see the Co-op associates in room 201 on the Rosen campus before you leave.
