Mr. Willard (Rishawn) Evins
Coordinator, Academic Advising Services I
Willard (Rishawn) Evins joined the University of Central Florida in April 2013 working with Mr. Joshua Johnson in Orientation for New and Transfer students for the Rosen College of Hospitality Management. This position was part of Mr. Evins internship for his Masters of Science in Higher Education, Student Affairs. While working on his first internship, he was hired in OPS status to work in the Office of Student Services under the direction of Mrs. Lori Ashby, Director of Student Services. Mr. Evins was provided an opportunity to do his second internship within the Rosen College Graduate Program under the direction of Ms. Kathy King, Coordinator for the Graduate Program.
Once his internship ended in June 2013, Mr. Evins transitioned in his academic advising role as a staff member at the Rosen College. He was then promoted to Coordinator of Academic Advising Services I; his responsibilities include updating the new myKnight audit with exceptions approved by Department Chairs and Director of Student Services. Mr. Evins is also one of the co-coordinators for the Rosen Leadership Council, also known as the Dean’s Ambassador Program, which started in fall 2016. This group consists of juniors and seniors that have a 3.0 overall GPA, strong leadership and interpersonal skills, and a passion for Rosen College and the Hospitality Industry. This group of students represents Rosen College in various capacities, acting as ambassadors for the College.
Mr. Evins is currently working on his Doctor of Philosophy in Post secondary and Adult Education at Capella University, with an estimated completion in winter 2020. Mr. Evins completed his Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs at Kaplan University in 2013 and his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology Child Development in 2010. He also holds a College Teaching Certificate from Capella University.
