Biography

Ms. Ricarya Jackson is an Administrative Assistant in the Office of the Dean working with the associate deans and department chairs at UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management. She is also an assistant and a member of the support staff  for the Graduate Degree Programs. Prior to these roles, Ms. Jackson was an assistant for Ron Logan and the Entertainment Management Program. She has served as an Adjunct professor, when her schedule permits, teaching Catering Sales Management.

She began her career at Rosen College while earning her Master’s degree at UCF, serving as a grad assistant in the Graduate Degree Office while in the master’s program  In addition to her Master’s degree, she also holds a Bachelor degree and an  Event Management Graduate Certificate from Rosen College.

Ms. Jackson  transferred to UCF from Florida A& M University where she was awarded a music and an academic scholarship. She played the bassoon in the symphonic band and marched in the Marching 100 playing alto saxophone.  She is a member of NSMH (National Society of Minorities in Hospitality), the Eta Sigma Delta Honor Society and UCF’s Black Faculty and Staff Association (BFSA).

Last year marked Ms. Jackson’s 20th year of service in the hospitality industry. She worked her way up from a hostess and server at Cracker Barrell in high school to a Food and Beverage Outlet Manager for Hilton Worldwide, before moving her skills to the academic side of the industry.
