Mr. Hector Rivera
Passionate about the art of hospitality and dedicated to delivering excellence, Héctor Rivera, Travel & Procurement Coordinator II at UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management, brings more than two decades of industry expertise to the table. With a keen eye for innovation, he is the go-to person for all procurement-related activities. Formerly the director of purchasing at Holiday Inn Club Vacations, Héctor’s commitment to researching cutting-edge products and services continues to elevate his skills.
Héctor graduated with a bachelor’s degree in social sciences from the state university in Puerto Rico. He spent eight years working at a hospital, where he learned that everything he did for families and patients contributed to their support and wellbeing when they were at their most vulnerable time. In 1999 he decided to search for new opportunities in Central Florida. That is where he began his career in the hospitality industry and embraced it with an open mind.
When he is not purchasing for work, he is testing that new gourmet recipe, kayaking in the Orlando area, or spending time with family and friends. He has always loved music and believes that music influences or changes your perspective or point of view in life. Héctor also does volunteer work at the church, connecting with the community and neighbors. Humble and always ready to serve, Héctor is committed to exceeding expectations in every aspect of his work.
