Dr. Peder Hagglund has been a distinguished member of the Rosen College of Hospitality Management since 2004.
With extensive experience in overseeing food service operations, Dr. Hagglund has contributed to both the hospitality and healthcare sectors. His career spans roles in renowned 3- and 4-star hotels like Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin and The Galt House Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky. He also held key management positions in medical institutions such as Tampa General Hospital, Boca General Hospital, Florida Medical Center, and Shands Jacksonville, working with Morrison Healthcare, a division of Compass Group.
Dr. Hagglund’s academic achievements include earning a Diploma from Les Roches International School of Hotel Management in Switzerland, a B.S. in Hotel and Restaurant Administration from Endicott College, and an M.S. in Industrial Engineering as well as a Ph.D. in Hospitality Education from the University of Central Florida.
Outside the classroom, Dr. Hagglund enjoys spending time at his Blueberry Heaven Ranch and Sanctuary, where he cares for horses, chickens, and cats. His personal passions include sports, particularly soccer and hockey, as well as research management, process analysis, artificial intelligence, sustainability, and information fluency.
