Mr. Fred Okumu
Biography
Mr. Fred O. Okumu, is the Information Technology Manager at the UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management, University of Central Florida.
Mr. Okumu serves as a thought leader in higher education IT for the college. He oversees critical IT tasks at the College including IT strategies, roadmaps, funding opportunities, & daily operations. He is also engaged in industry partnerships with respect to smart & innovative hospitality industry technologies that may be of benefit to students.
Fred is a Project Management Institute Certified Associate in Project Management and has led multiple large IT projects to successful completion. He brings more than 20 years of combined IT and project management experience to the table.
Fred joined the UCF Rosen College in 2013 after serving as the Technology Supervisor at Student Development & Enrollment Services, University of Central Florida. He holds a BSc. in Computer Science from Fayetteville State University, NC and has accumulated many information technology licensures & credentials. He is also a member of multiple IT & leadership committees at the University of Central Florida.
Fred is a published author with two books to his credit: The Gamers Health Companion; Think Like a Doctor, Exercise Like A CPT, Eat Like a Nutritionist. He is also a certified personal trainer. When not immersed in technology, you will find him engaged in philanthropy, nature, camping, fishing, basketball, reading, riding, swimming or at the beach.
