Dr. Jeong Hyun Kim joined the Rosen College of Hospitality Management as an Assistant Professor in August 2025. She received her Ph.D. in Hotel and Tourism Management from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, an M.S. in Nutritional Science from Ewha Womans University, and a B.A. in International Studies and English Language & Literature from Yonsei University, Korea. Prior to joining UCF, she served as a Research Professor at the Smart Tourism Research Center at Kyung Hee University.
Her academic papers have been published in premium peer-reviewed journals, including Annals of Tourism Research, Tourism Management, Journal of Travel Research, Journal of Travel & Tourism Marketing, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, and Tourism Review. She has also led major funded projects as Principal Investigator, such as Generative AI Applications in Technology, Tourism, and Communication supported by the Korean Federation of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Utilization and Strategy of Generative AI: A Convergent Study in Technology, Communication, and Tourism supported by the National Research Foundation of Korea.
Dr. Kim’s research expertise centers on consumer behavior, AI adoption, technology-driven transformation in tourism and hospitality, and sustainable tourism. In her teaching, she emphasizes problem-based learning (PBL), encouraging students to apply theoretical knowledge to practical challenges. She has taught a range of undergraduate and graduate courses, including Sustainable Tourism, Service Management, Tourism Marketing, Food Tourism, and Tourism Planning and Development. She is deeply committed to fostering global learning experiences, bridging research with industry practice, and guiding students to develop creative problem-solving skills in the digital era.
