The event industry faces a new future which will be driven by emerging technologies, more demanding clients and consumers, the search for sustainability and social justice, highly engaging in-person, virtual and hybrid event formats, event analytics, and the need for new leaders in the field to manage the complexity and dynamism of the event industry of the future.

This fully online, 30-credit cohort program is designed to educate students on these trends, enable them to understand the market(s), and develop strategies for events to succeed in the highly competitive event landscape. In addition to the necessary management and leadership skills to equip them for success, the program will introduce destination and international contexts that underpin event design and delivery as well as provide the legal, analytical, and reflective leadership skills to succeed.

Earning the MS in Event Leadership will be achieved via highly experienced faculty delivery to a cohort group of students who will be encouraged to immerse themselves in the study of events to become future industry leaders or expand their current capabilities in the industry.

The typical Master’s candidate holds an undergraduate degree in hospitality, business management or a related discipline, and works for a leading hospitality organization.

These are credit earning certificates for people that already have a BS degree. Certificates can be completed as a non-degree seeking student or as a graduate student.

GRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN LEADERSHIP AND STRATEGY IN HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM

The Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Strategy in Hospitality and Tourism will offer graduate-level leadership and strategic management courses. This graduate certificate  provides knowledge and information that facilitates the effective use of leadership and strategic management theories and concepts in the management of hospitality and tourism businesses. The certificate covers theories and concepts as well as current issues and developments related to leadership and strategic management in hospitality and tourism businesses. Students learn to synthesize theory and application at the graduate level in order to develop and implement effective leadership and strategy practices.

No GRE or GMAT required.

 

GRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT FOR THE HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM INDUSTRY

The Graduate Certificate in Financial Management for the Hospitality and Tourism Industry provides knowledge and information that facilitates the effective financial management of hospitality and tourism entities. The certificate covers the strategies for creating value for stakeholders within and for an organization and critically reviews performance metrics with a focus on the economic, business, and financial risk factors that may impact entity performance.

The Graduate Certificate in Hospitality & Tourism Technologies provides knowledge and information that facilitate the effective use of existing and emerging technologies in the marketing and management of hospitality and tourism products, services, experiences and electronic channels of distribution.

Please note: The graduate certificate in Hospitality & Tourism Technologies program may be completed online, although not all elective options or program prerequisites may be offered online. Newly admitted students choosing to complete this program exclusively via UCF Online classes may enroll with a reduction in campus-based fees.

MS IN TRAVEL TECHNOLOGY AND ANALYTICS

The interdisciplinary Master of Science in Travel Technology and Analytics, offered jointly by the College of Engineering and Computer Science (Departments of Computer Science; Industrial Engineering and Management Systems; Civil, Environmental, and Construction Engineering) and the Rosen College of Hospitality Management (Departments of Tourism, Events, and Attractions; Hospitality Services), introduces graduate students to the technical aspects of big data analytics, including predictive analytics, algorithm design and models for SMART-cities, SMART-technologies and travel systems, and service systems quality engineering, in the specific context of global travel and tourism.
