The Loews Hotels at Universal Progressive Internship Program is a unique partnership between Rosen College of Hospitality Management and Loews Hotels at Universal Orlando Resort designed to provide students with real-world experience in hotel operations and leadership development.

This highly competitive, multi-semester rotational internship allows selected students to gain experience across multiple hotel departments while working alongside industry professionals and leaders. Through hands-on learning, mentorship, and professional development opportunities, participants build the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to launch successful careers in the hospitality industry.

The Progressive Internship Program bridges classroom learning with practical industry experience through structured departmental rotations.

Students gain exposure to a variety of operational areas within a hotel environment, developing an understanding of how departments work together to support daily operations and deliver exceptional guest experiences. Through hands-on experiences across multiple functions, participants build operational knowledge while exploring the many career opportunities available within the lodging industry.

Program Structure

The internship is completed over two semesters, allowing students to experience multiple areas of hotel operations while developing a comprehensive understanding of the guest journey and organizational leadership.

  • Storeroom Operations
  • Room Service and Delivery Operations
  • Security Operations

Students continue their development through advanced operational rotations focused on either Rooms Operations or Food and Beverage Operations.

*Each semester runs 13 weeks with students working approximately 20 hours per week.

In addition to departmental rotations, interns participate in specialized learning experiences that support both personal and professional development.
