Dr. Jeannie Hahm is an Associate Professor and Interim Chair of the Department of Tourism, Event, Entertainment, & Attractions. She earned both her M.S. and Ph.D. in Hospitality and Tourism Management from the Rosen College, building on a foundation established with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from South Korea.

Following the completion of her Ph.D., Dr. Hahm served as an Assistant Professor at The University of Alabama before returning to UCF in 2015. Her teaching journey began in 2005 as a Ph.D. student, and she currently teaches various courses within the Event Management undergraduate and Event Leadership master’s degree programs. Her course offerings include Convention & Conference Sales & Services, Event Trends, Technology and the Macroenvironment, The Reflective Leader, The Event Industry, Exhibit and Trade Show Operations, Tourism Management, Event Marketing, Event Sales, Fairs and Festivals, Research in Sport Tourism, and Event Tourism Strategies.

Dr. Hahm’s research interests focus on film-induced tourism, the impact of mega-events on destination image, destination marketing, and consumer behavior in tourism and events. Her work has been published in leading academic journals such as Tourism Management, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, International Journal of Hospitality Management, Journal of Travel and Tourism Marketing, and Journal of Hospitality Marketing & Management. She also serves as an Associate Editor for the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Dr. Hahm has valuable industry experience in hotels, vacation ownership resorts, and conferences. She actively organizes global conferences in collaboration with colleagues worldwide and maintains strong industry connections by participating in various associations, including MPI, IAEE, PCMA, TTRA, IAAPA, and ICHRIE. She is also the faculty advisor for MPI Knights.
