Latin Grammy Winner and VIP Campus Visitor, Now Grammy Winner!

In October 2019, UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management had the immense privilege of hosting Latin Grammy winning artist Aymée Nuviola. The artist shared an hour-long Q&A session and a musical performance with our entertainment management students, and other UCF and Rosen College students, who filled a standing-room-only Darden Auditorium.  This past Sunday, Aymée Nuviola was honored with a Grammy for “Best Tropical Latin Album”. We are proud to have had the pleasure to meet this amazing artist through the October engagement session thanks to the Latin Grammy Foundation.

TOP STOP MUSIC WINS  “BEST TROPICAL LATIN ALBUM” GRAMMY FOR THEIR PROJECT “AYMÉE NUVIOLA: A JOURNEY THROUGH CUBAN MUSIC”

Top Stop Music’s latest release with Grammy and Latin Grammy winner, Aymée Nuviola, “A Journey Through Cuban Music” has won the GRAMMY for “Best Tropical Latin Album” during the 62nd annual Grammy Premiere Ceremony which took place at the Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater on January 26th. This album came together from the concept of President and founder of Top Stop Music, Gregory Elias, with the sole purpose of sharing the importance of Cuban music with the world.

Recording iconic Cuban songs from different eras and genres such as “Chan Chan”, “Tres Palabras”, and “Lagrimas Negras” amongst many others, while maintaining their true essence, and performed by Nuviola, the album is a true journey around the musical island.

With Aymée’s raw talent and rich sound, the album was produced and recorded at the Abdala Studios in Havana, Cuba, alongside her Top Stop Music team including, Juan Mario “Mayito” Aracil, Guianko Gomez, Bianca Champagne, Blanca Del Mar Rivera Gonzalez, and Fernando Rojo.The album counts with numerous featurings by top legends of Cuban music including Chucho Valdés, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Omara Portuondo, Septeto Santiaguero, Muñequitos de Matanzas, Alexander Abreu, and many more.

Alongside the production of the album, Top Stop Music captured footage of the recording process and went on a literal journey around the island visiting birthplaces of genres, speaking with artists, creators, luthiers, and the people of Cuba which all comes together on a documentary with the same title, “A Journey Through Cuban Music” that will be released soon.

This is Aymée’s second nomination to the GRAMMYs and first Grammy win. In 2018 Nuviola received a Latin Grammy for “Best Tropical Fusion Album” for her album “Como Anillo Al Dedo”. The two Grammy and Latin Grammy winning albums have been together with Top Stop Music.

El más reciente lanzamiento de Top Stop Music junto a la ganadora de Grammy y Latin Grammy, Aymée Nuviola, “A Journey Through Cuban Music” ganó el GRAMMY por ‘Mejor Álbum Latino Tropical’ durante la 62° Ceremonia anual de los GRAMMYs que tuvo lugar en el Microsoft Theater de Los Ángeles el 26 de enero. Este álbum surgió del concepto del presidente y fundador de Top Stop Music, Gregory Elias, con el único propósito de compartir la importancia de la música cubana con el mundo.

Grabando canciones icónicas de Cuba de de diferentes épocas y géneros como el “Chan Chan”, “Tres Palabras”, y “Lagrimas Negras” entre muchas otras, manteniendo su verdadera esencia, interpretadas por Nuviola, el álbum es un verdadero viaje por la isla musical.

Con el talento vivo y el sonido único de Aymée, el álbum fue producido y grabado en los Estudios Abdala en La Habana, Cuba, junto a su equipo de Top Stop Music, incluyendo a Juan Mario “Mayito” Aracil, Guianko Gómez, Bianca Champagne, Blanca Del Mar Rivera González, y Fernando Rojo.

Esta es la segunda nominación a los GRAMMYs para Aymée y el primer Grammy que ha recibido. En el 2018, Nuviola fue galardonada a un Grammy Latino por “Mejor Álbum Fusión Tropical” con su álbum “Como Anillo Al Dedo”. Los dos álbumes ganadores de Grammy y Latin Grammy fueron bajo el sello Top Stop Music.
