The topics covered in this issue span a broad spectrum, including social servicescape and robotic service within the theme park industry, the concept of smart destinations, heritage tourism, destination loyalty, tourism development and poverty, factors influencing the golfing experience, and gender identity and stereotyping in service encounters.

The featured thought leader article of this edition centers around Bruce Zagers, the Commissioner of Tourism for Saba, a small Caribbean island. It explores the unique challenges faced by small islands, which raise fundamental questions about the practical implementation of principles like sustainability, equity, and inclusiveness.

After three years of dealing with the Covid-19 crisis, now endemic across the globe, we are approaching research with a modified vision through new discovery and innovations. This seventh issue of the Rosen Research Review magazine finds us looking at research that is focused forward.

This issue’s thought leader article focuses on Robert Valle, CIO of Mazda North American Operations. Rosen College of Hospitality Management is working with Mazda on consumer relations research for the car manufacturer, a company which Consumer Reports rates as a Best Overall Auto Brand in its annual reliability survey.

In this issue, there is an article on cleaning restaurants and indoor air quality, an all-important topic for an airborne virus like Covid-19. We also share an article on how rural destinations can create memorable experiences for guests and one for travelers with disabilities who need occupational therapists.

This issue’s thought leader article focuses on Gregory Elias, an entertainment management titan. Elias is the president and founder of Top Stop Music and helped establish the UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management’s Entertainment Management degree program. Elias has a lot to say about the face of entertainment, festivals, music and films.

Read it NOW! We’re back with new research, taking a look at how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the hospitality and tourism industry and taking a look ahead. In this fifth issue, there are 10 new research articles.

This latest issue of the Rosen Research Review magazine was released on December 13, 2021, as we navigate the new horizon of hospitality, travel and tourism. We deliver data from a recent study that shows why United States hospitality workers are not returning to the industry following the pandemic.  And after a busy hurricane season, we look at the impact of tropical cyclones on the economy. A highlight of the winter issue is an interview with Philippe Gas, CEO of Qiddiya, a city of entertainment and attractions rising from the desert in Saudi Arabia.

We’re back now with 10 new research articles in our fourth issue of the Rosen Research Review.

Our latest issue of the magazine was released on July 8, 2021, just in time for the return to travel and the widespread opening of the hospitality industry. There are articles based on current research focusing on the impacts of the COVID-19 global pandemic and how it has affected the hospitality and tourism industry. There is also an insightful look at Sustainability and Hospitality: People, planet and prosperity, in an Interview with Jared Meyers, the Chairman of Legacy Vacation Resorts, a certified B corporation. B Corporations are committed to inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economic systems.

This is not a  research journal. It’s a magazine based on research that focuses on subjects that are impacting the hospitality and tourism industry and its stakeholders, including guests who use the industry’s services. Inside you’ll find 12 articles that focus on various aspects of hospitality, from engaging the LGBTQ community to food safety when it comes to oysters.  We are sharing information on recent topics that affect various aspects of hospitality, events, entertainment, foodservice, restaurants and more.

As with the first issue, the Fall 2019 Issue of Rosen Research Review magazine is available electronically, where  you may read, save, bookmark and share the content. Hard copies are also available upon request. Also great for sharing if you can part with your issue.

Welcome to A New Research Magazine

Click on the image! What are you reading? It’s the Rosen Research Review. This is not your typical research journal but a glossy, colorful, engaging magazine, created for the hospitality and tourism industry by Rosen College of Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida, in partnership with Research Features. This magazine reflects the changing times in hospitality research and academia as we work in collaboration with our industry partners to address their needs and share the things we’ve learned that can help to navigate the future of how we enjoy all aspects of hospitality, events, entertainment, foodservice, restaurants and more.

Each article speaks to a different segment of the hospitality industry and introduces you to experts in the field. We produced this magazine for one reason…to share things we’ve studied that affect how you do business.
