Mark Havard knows what it takes to succeed as a leader in the hospitality industry. With over three decades of human resources experience, Havard is the Human Resource Director at Hyatt Hotels & Resorts’ most valuable asset globally – Hyatt Regency Orlando. He is responsible for all aspects of human resources at the 1,641-room property, including talent acquisition, colleague development, compensation and benefit administration, diversity, equity and inclusion, and creating a work culture of care. Additionally, Havard provides guidance and leadership to multiple human resources functions within Hyatt’s operations in the United States. Over the course of his career with Hyatt, he has worked in eight different hotels, was selected to lead the human resources function in the company’s largest-ever acquisition, and three of his teams have been recognized as Hyatt’s Human Resources Team of the Year.
The Florida Division on Career Development and Transition has recognized Havard with their Making a Difference Award, and the Orlando Business Journal recognized Hyatt Regency Orlando as an Outstanding Diverse Organization in its inaugural Diversity in Business Awards. He is Past President of the Central Florida Hotel Human Resources Association, an advisory board member for the University of Central Florida’s Targeted Research Training Program and serves on the CareerSource Central Florida Board of Directors. A dedicated mentor, Havard has helped hundreds develop the skills to take their careers to the next level.
