Banfi Vintners Scholastic Tour of Italy 2017
Rosen College of Hospitality Management Scholarship Application

The Banfi Foundation has made a generous gift to the UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management to pay all expenses (airfare, hotels, all meals, all tours, wine, and instruction) for one Rosen College student and one faculty member on an 8-day guided tour of Italy. Rosen College is one of the 12 hospitality programs participating in the program in 2017.

Deadline to apply Thursday, December 15, 2016. 

The Tour will begin on Saturday, May 27, 2017, with a flight to Milan, Italy and returning from Rome, Italy on Sunday, June 4, 2017. The Tour will include visits to wineries, vineyards, a cheese production facility, a bakery, a glass museum, restaurants and the cities of Verona, Reggio, Montalcino, and Rome (see attached itinerary).

Selection Process
The recipient will be selected by a Rosen College Faculty Committee, chaired by Professor Juge.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older, and be registered for a minimum of 6 credit hours during Spring 2017 semester.
2. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.00 or better. Applicants must submit an unofficial transcript with their application.
3. Applicants must have successfully completed either HFT 3868 History and Culture of Wine or HFT 4866C Exploring Wines of the World.

Applicants must submit an application to Professor Juge via email at Frank.Juge@ucf.edu from their Knights email address by Thursday, December 15, 2016.

Late applications will not be accepted.

Applicants should complete the following profiles; Each of the following topics should be addressed in essay style, a maximum of two paragraphs for each bullet point, a maximum of two pages in total – single spaced, 1” margins, Times New Roman or Calibri 12-point font.

The winner will be notified by early January 2017.

*Please Note: The winning applicant will be responsible to secure a passport at his/her own expense. A winner who is not a US citizen is responsible for obtaining the appropriate visa from the Italian Government if required.
