Dean’s Right Hand is April Dean’s Star Award Winner

After  a year of  coordinating schedules working from home due to a pandemic and digital engagement, the dean’s Star Award for April 2021 was bestowed on the Dean’s Executive Assistant Stephanie Gavarrete.  Here is what was said about Ms. Gavarrete during the presentation of the award:

“Since joining the Rosen College in 2018, this person has proven herself to be extremely efficient, effective and reliable in supporting the Dean’s office over the last few years. In addition to the routine activities, she continues to find better ways to serve the college and pick up responsibilities in assisting the Dean’s office on multiple important events, including the Dean’s faculty meetings, faculty assembly meetings, college management team meetings, the Dean’s advisory board meetings, the Dean’s faculty retreat, personnel files auditing, staffing student workers at front desks, managing Dean’s Star Awards, etc. With increasing understanding of the college’s culture and operational procedures, she makes continuous contribution to a hospitable culture in engaging with various stakeholders of the college. The past year proved to be a challenging year for all, but she steps up to the challenges and successfully fulfilled her duties and responsibilities in supporting a very busy agenda of the Dean’s office. She played a significant role in transiting most of the activities to a digital environment for the office, including virtual phone system set up, digital signature forms creation, virtual meetings set up, meeting minutes taking and transcription, faculty personnel files documentation and management, virtual receptionists set up, and providing numerous other support duties to advisory board meetings and administrative functions. In addition, she also serves on the “We Care Committee” and played an important role in promoting and enhancing a caring culture at the college. Sometimes I wonder whether she has a robot set up on her computer to monitor incoming messages as every time you send out a communication to her, she responds and takes actions right away. She definitely makes the lives of many colleagues at Rosen College easier, including mine. I am delighted to present this month’s Dean’s Star Award to Ms. Stephanie Gavarrete.”
